When it comes to wine, Chef Gordon Ramsay has absolutely no respect for wine that is distributed by a celebrity. He drove this point home in an earlier season of Gordon Ramsay's F Word on the BBC when he had Cliff Richard take a blind taste test between a "good" (read: rare, expensive, often pretentious) wine and a "celebrity plonk". Guess which category the Manilow label falls into?
During Season 3, the test was repeated, this time with Ian Botham, a former cricket player and commentator, who recently began his own winery.
In the video clip below, taken from the delayed broadcast on BBC America, watch Ramsay's reaction as Sir Ian prefers the Manilow chardonnay to Batard-Montrachet, which runs from $150 to well over $1,000 a bottle.
You can't buy this kind of PR!! Well, not cheaply, anyway. Enjoy!

Barry's Back on AI
Finally, more reason to watch American Idol than the parade of no-talents embarassing themselves at the prompting of the producers! Barry's back, February 3 according to manilow.com.
Anyone want to bet that the makeup artists and other support staff are going to be well-versed on everyone's name this time? ;-)

Now What?
You would think my brain would clear out its fog AFTER New Year's. But no. Not me. Between work and other obligations I can't think straight and inspiration is hiding. It kills me to not know what to blog about.
So I'm turning to my loyal (or not so loyal - whatever) readers.
Any topic suggestions? Requests?

It's All Behind Us Now
New Year Myspace Graphics
Goodbye to the past 12 months - and good riddance to the bad baggage, while treasuring the bright spots.
Pete bid farewell to 2008 by shining a mooner off the front porch.
2009 is looking bright from here.
Happy New Year everyone!
MUAH!!!
